Texas Star Energy is a wholesale electricity broker in Texas. With the electric deregulation, the spirit of competition is working to provide the consumer with the best possible electric rates. Most people do not know that electricity is a commodity that is sold in the open market. Just like any other commodity, it is priced daily and can change with market conditions. Stocks are sold in shares and electricity is sold in kilowatts.
Texas Star Energy's goal is provide you or your business with the most competitive rate possible. When you ask Texas Star Energy for a rate, it is available for a short period of time, because we do not have the markup that most electric companies have. They mark their rate up, so the can advertise the rate and not be effected by any market fluxuations.
Some people ask if this will change my electric service. The answer is NO.
The only thing that will change is the amount you are billed. You will never know a change was made. Understand that when electricity was deregulated, the distribution of electric was not. Therefore, distribution companies, such as Oncor and Texas New Mexico Power still own all of the equipment associated with your service. When your meter is read for billing, Oncor comes out and reads your meter. Then Oncor bills your Retail Electric Provider and the Retail Electric Provider in turn bills you.
To break this down to its bare essence, when you sign up with an electric provider, whether it be TXU, Reliant Energy, Direct Energy, or Us, you are signing up with a company that generates a bill for you. We do not have anything to do with the actual providing of electricity. That is the job of Oncor, Texas New Mexico Power, Centerpoint etc...
QUESTION
WHY PAY MORE TO HAVE A COMPANY PRODUCE A BILL TO YOU?

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Texas Star Energy provides you with the lowest kilowatt rate possible. When pricing your electric, there are some items to consider.
1. Is the rate a variable rate or a fixed rate?
All of Texas Star Energy's Contract are fixed rates. We do not sell variable rates contracts. Some providers have lower rates, but they are on variable rates that fluxuate. We do not recommend these types of contracts.
2. What are the terms of the contract.
We offer 12,24,&36 month contracts. You can choose what meets your needs.
3. Are there any added fees to your bill other than the state taxes and transmission fees.
We pass on the mandatory fees from the state. We do not mark these fees up.
